Today we're taking a look at and installing the Hopkins Smart Camera Backup System here on a 2010 Ford F-250. with the Hopkins Smart Camera backup system installed it's gonna be a huge help to those of us out there on the road that don't have backup camera systems in here. So driving around, I don't have towing mirrors. I just have standard single plane mirrors and I keep them pointed down towards the back tires of my pickup truck so that way I can use them to line up in parking spots backing up the trailers. But that's also a little unsafe just because I don't really see what's going on next to me. more

We just got to here to work and we decided we wanna get out of here right on time today. So we're gonna back into our parking spot, and there's cars on both sides, well, we can use our backup camera system here to guide us right into that slot with ease, we've got confidence 'cause we've got everything that's right behind us that we need to see right there. And we can even use it to kind of determine, hey, we're fully in our parking spot, because we saw that we got our hitch over the bumper that was back there. Hi there trailer owners. Today on your 2014 Palomino Solaire, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Hopkins Wireless Camera System. And this is what our camera system looks like when it's installed. It mounts up extremely easily, because it goes right behind one of your tail lights right in the center at the top, the bracket comes included with it and it's got spacing for the holes that match up with your standard hole spacing on your lights, so it's simply remove the light and it fits right behind it. It gives you a nice clean look and an extremely easy way to get a camera installed because it's powered right off the same light circuit. So we're getting ready to back it into a spot, but I wanted to do a quick test just to see how far away I can go from the trailer with my phone here, if we can still connect. more

Hi there F-150 owners today on your 2008 Ford F-150. We're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Hopkins rear view camera system. This backup camera system is going to install behind your license plate, and make it easy for you to see when backing up as well as easily see your hitch ball in your new camera system. This makes it easier to line up your truck with your trailer when getting it set up, so you don't need a spotter at the back. Some other features I like about this camera are the grid lines on it to help show a straight path when backing up, as well as the audible blind spot detection. Rear View Safety Backup Monitor Installation - 2012 Buick Enclave- Video
Shane: Shane here with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be going over the RVS, rear view safety camera set up. This system typically is just going to come with your monitor. You're going to have to get your rear camera and your two side cameras if you decide to put those on.Another thing is typically we put these on campers or RVs. Because they're so big, it makes it a lot easier to either see past the camper or to see a couple of lanes over. The reason we put it on this car is the owner of the vehicle has a hard time turning his neck, so he wanted something that he can see a couple lanes over when he's either changing lanes or getting ready to turn, to give him that extra view that he needs because obviously he cannot turn his head.The camera set up, the RVS screen is going to be a 5.6 inch screen. more

Rear View Safety Backup Sensor System Installation - 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Hi there Jeep owners. Today in our 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Rear View Safeties backup sensor system you've probably ridden in a vehicle before with audible backup sensors. With this system, you can easily add it to any vehicle that doesn't have an existing set of backup sensors.And what's nice about adding it yourself is you've got a lot of options to choose how you want to use it. We've currently got our system installed on a Jeep just as a typical backup system. All four sensors are located in our bumper and we've got a service cart currently located right behind the vehicle, and you can see here that our system's detecting it, indicating that we have an object nearby.As you can see here on our display, as I go closer, the audible beeps will increase in intensity and they'll beep closer together and our number will decrease on the display, and as we go further away it will decrease in intensity as well as the number. And once we get far enough away, our system will go blank and it won't beep anymore.Here you can see at the back of our Jeep we've got our four sensors, there's one in each corner and there's two here in the center, and this will give us complete coverage across the back of our Jeep so we know when we're backing up it's going to detect it.On your display, you'll have two clips that come with it, and these are great for flipping into a headliner or helping you get it mounted. more

Today on our 2014 Ram 1500, we're going to be installing Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera.So as we back up here to our trailer, we can use it to guide us in, to make sure that our hitch ball is going to line up, and that we don't get too close and back into our trailer. As we're backing up, we can hear the beeps indicating we're getting close. And as the beep intensity increases, we know we're getting very close.And we're there. It features a full color, three and a half inch display. The base at the bottom has a sticky pad on it, so you can mount it wherever you'd like. And it can swivel on that mounting pad. more

Today in our 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera with hitch alignment system, part number HM50002.Right here we have our backup camera, which can adjust up or down like so. Then we have our sensors that are on the side. These are there to detect when you're approaching an object and you're getting very close to hitting it. The bracket tray underneath lets you mount it to your license plate so it'll center on your hitch. With the camera on, we can see everything behind us. It even includes a hitch mode so that when we're backing up, trying to hook up to our hitch, we can line it up perfectly and get it in one try every time.As you can see, it starts beeping when we get pretty close to an object, lets you know that you're coming close. more

Speaker 1: Today on this 2018 Toyota Avalon, we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Rear View Safety Blind Spont Sensor System, part number RVS-BES02.Here's what our blind spot detection system look like installed on the rear of our vehicle. Keep in mind, it's going to look identical on the other side. We'll have one sensor for each side of the vehicle. Here's what it looks like inside of the vehicle. We'll have two indicator lights like this one, which typically you'll mount on your A pillar so you can see them easily while you're driving. The one on the driver side will be for your driver side blind spont, and the one on the passenger side will be for your passenger side blind spot.Now, the reason you're going to want this system is if you have a vehicle that's not factory equipped with blind spot indication, this does make it a lot safer when you're trying to drive down the highway and change lanes. more

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, we're gonna be installing Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera, part number HM50002.The main reason why you'd want this is to help you in backing up to your trailer. This way, you can see your hitch ball and the trailer, and receive audible warnings when you're getting too close. This way, you can line it up right every time the first time.And one of the other most useful features is that it'll detect objects behind you. So, when backing up, there'll be no surprises. Whereas other cameras just have a display, this one's got those sensors to provide an audible warning for things that may be outside of its field of view to let you know to check your surroundings.And, as you can see, the line geometry on your camera matches very closely to the lines on a parking space. So, you can use those to help guide you directly in the center of your parking spot.If you press the button on the side, it'll open up your menu, and you can switch the hitch line on, and use these for lining up with your hitch ball. more

With the camera system in place, as soon as you shift into reverse the camera's going to come on. See in the pattern that we currently have there it's more of a rectangular block system. Today on our 2014 Nissan Frontier we're going to be taking a look at the K Source Vision System Backup Camera, part number KSVS-8. Here's where our backup monitor looks like fully installed. When we're not backing up and it's not in reverse, it's just going to be a regular rear view mirror. Now if we put it in reverse, you can see the picture come up on the monitor. Then we take it out of reverse, picture goes away. Now on the bottom of the monitor here, there's a wheel and as you can see, by turning the wheel it's going to adjust the contrast and brightness so you're going to be able to see whatever's behind you in low light, bright light, or very dim situations. more

Rear View Safety Backup Camera System Installation - 2005 Ford Escape- Video
Today in our 2005 Ford Escape, we'll be installing the rearview safety backup camera system with a mirror monitor and license plate mounted camera. Part #RVS-778718N. We'll turn our key on. The green LED comes on on our mirror, we know we have power. Place our vehicle in reverse and our backup camera comes on with our grid distance warning shown on the display. You can see we have a very clear and large display on our backup camera to show us what's going on in our mirror. We can adjust the brightness on our mirror by pressing the power button here quickly, releasing it to get the desired level that we want. Leave it at 50 because it's right in the middle. If we want to turn the mirror off, we can just hold down the power button and it shuts off. more

Rear View Safety Wireless Backup Camera System Installation - 2015 Chevrolet Malibu- Video
Today, on our 2015 Chevrolet Malibu, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Rear View Safety Wireless Backup Camera System with Built-in Backup Sensors, part number RVS-5350-W. Here's what our camera system's going to look like once it's installed. We've got the screen that's mounted up here on our dash that's going to connect wirelessly to the camera on the back through a transmitter that is wired and it's tucked underneath the dash. So that way, it's going to be nice and discreet and out of the way. You're just going to have the screen up here that's going to display the image of what's behind you and also, because of the sensors in the system, it'll give you a read out as to approximately how far behind you the item is. This camera system is going to do a really good job of showing you what's behind you, so that way, in case there's something that's low or short that's behind you that you may not be able to see, you will be able to see it with the camera. So here with the screen, you can see our red, yellow, and green bars, and then as we have someone behind us, as they come closer, you'll see the sensors begin to pick them up and give us the distance. more

Here's what the backup camera and sensors look like once they're installed. You can see we've got our backup camera right here in the center which is going to be good because it's in line with the hitch that's in the center so when backing up to a trailer, that's going to help make it easier to line it up. Then we've also got our sensors which are going to help give us the depth perception behind us, so it can alert us when we're getting too close to anything. Here's what the monitor is going to look like inside the truck. When we put it in reverse, it's going to come on and you'll be able to see one of the nicest features about this backup camera system, is that it gives you hitch alignment assistance. It gives you these bars to help give you a grid to align your hitch inside it. more

Our backup camera allows you to safely drive in reverse by allowing you to see who or what might be behind you. Even in low light situations you can still see what's going on with the night vision mode on our camera. The camera will also adjust for changes in light levels from hitting the brakes in a dark garage to opening the door up to full sunlight. So here's what our camera looks like installed. Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Silverado- Video
Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System, part number HM50002. Here's what it looks like once it's installed in the truck. As you can see we got the display here and then we've also got red, yellow and green zones within our image, so as we backup and get into each zone, you'll notice that each colored zone starts to flash as we're in that range. We are very close the the coupler on the trailer and the red zone is flashing. That audio tone that you hear just lets us know which zone we're in, the green, yellow or red and the constant tone means we're in that red zone and the dial here on the side will allow you to adjust that. If you go down, you can completely mute it, or you can go completely up you can change the volume of it. Now you also have some other options. There's an options menu, that if you press this dial in on the side, it will let you go in and you can switch those. more

K-Source Back-Up Camera Installation - 2013 Dodge Durango- Video
Today on our 2013 Dodge Durango we're installing our K-Source Vision System Rear-Mounted Camera and Rear-View Mirror Display Monitor, part number KSVS-8. This is what our mirror looks like once it's installed. For normal operation I'll put our car in run mode without starting it. I'm going to push on the brake, put it in reverse, and our camera should turn on. This is where you can adjust it. If it's not pointing in the right direction where you want it to be, this is where you can go back on the camera and you can move it down or point it up a little bit further. This stays on as long as you're in reverse. more

Today in our 2013 Ford F150, we're going to be taking a look at installing the Hopkins Smart Hitch backup camera and hitch aligner system, part number HM50002. Right now, we have it in hitch mode. It's going to give us this V shape. It's going to help us line up the ball, which you can see right here at the bottom of our screen, to our trailer. Now, as we back up, you'll see it starts to go from the green to the yellow, which means we're getting within five or six inches of our target. As we get closer, it's going to go to red, and that's going to let us know we're very close to our target, within about an inch and a half of our target. Now, we're going to take it from our tow mode and put it into everyday mode, which will change our lines in the back to a more squared off pattern. more

Mechanic: Today, on our 2009 GMC Sierra, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System, part number HM50002. Here's what it looks like once it's installed, let's go ahead and show you how it works when it's in action. Now, as we're backing up to our trailer, you'll see we have it in our hitch liner mode. As you get closer, it'll start to flash in the green. That's going to mean that we're between 3 1/2 and 5 1/2 feet away. Once we get to yellow, that's going to put us within a 1 1/2 to 3 1/2 feet. Once we've reached red, it means we're right about under our ball and we can lower our trailer onto our ball mount. more

Today on this 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to review and install the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System, part number HM50002. This is what the monitor of the system looks like when installed in the vehicle in its typical location. Right now we have it in reverse and we see we have the hitch lines on our display. As we back up to our trailer, you'll notice that the green lines will start flashing and then the yellow lines will start flashing as we get closer and so forth, until we hit the red lines. You also hear a tone to let you know how close you are. You start hearing the alerts and the visual alerts as well. Now I'll go ahead and try it in a situation like in a parking lot. I have it in reverse. more

Here's what your camera looks like once it's installed with your sensors. It will go right where your license plate goes. Now we're going to back up to our trailer and you can see it is in hitch mode, which is where there's a point at the bottom. It'll help us line up to our trailer ball. You can watch as we get closer it's going to go into the green line, which is a pre-detection mode, then it'll go into the yellow, which is your caution, and once it get's to the red that's going to put you within an inch or so from your target area. Now we see here in everyday mode where it's kind of squared out. more

Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera Installation - 2010 Honda Element- Video
Today on our 2010 Honda Element, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System. Part number HM50002. Here's what it looks like once it's installed. As you can see we're in trailer mode now so it's kind of a V shape, it's going to go right to the ball, that you can see right there at the bottom. You can switch it to everyday mode, simply push it in. That gives you a nice square box and the closer you get to something it'll start to make a little more noise so when you get to the yellow it kind of a caution zone, when you get to red that's a danger zone. You can up to an inch and a half away when that red starts to go off. If you want to back up to a trailer you would simply switch it to hitch mode and you start to back up. more

Hopkins Back Up Camera Installation - 2011 Ford F-150- Video
Today in the 2011 Ford F-150 we're going to be installing and taking a look at the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System, part number HM50002. Now that we have it installed, we can see what it's going to look like when you start to back up. As you get closer, it'll start beeping. In the hitch mode it keeps you centered on the ball to help you line up your coupler with your ball mount. Once it goes to a solid noise, and the red starts flashing, that'll put you right over the top of your ball. This is what it's going to look like in everyday mode. Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera Installation - 2009 Chevrolet Silverado- Video
Today on our 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligning System. Part number is HM50002. Here you can see as we're backing up to our trailer to keep a good steady look at it. We can get our cameras adjusted just right with the swivel heads. We'll know when our red line starts flashing, our trailer should be directly above our ball. There's no longer a need to have somebody helping you or guiding you back. To switch out of our Hitch Mode into Everyday Mode, simply hit the button on the side, turn the Hitch Line off. That'll give us our normal, everyday kind of deal, which comes in really handy, especially with these big trucks in these tighter parking lots, parking spots, and things like that. It's going to allow you to get safely into your spot without bumping anybody else's vehicle. Perfect. Before we install it, let's take a quick look over the components that we're going to have. Here's our monitor screen. That's going to hook up to the 19 ft 7 in wire that we've got running from the back. more

Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera Installation - 2012 Nissan Frontier- Video
Today on this 2012 Nissan Frontier we're going to review and install the hopkins smart hitch backup camera and hitch aligner system, part number hm50002. This is what the backup camera looks like when it's installed on the vehicle. First off, we're on the inside of the vehicle, and this is our monitor right here. The monitor is only powered when we put the vehicle in reverse. Now this is what our monitor looks like when it's in hitch mode. This will allow us to back up to a trailer and help us to line up with the ball a little bit easier than having a second person behind you waving you back and forth. more

Accele Electronics Backup Sensor System Installation - 2013 Dodge Durango- Video
Today on our 2013 Dodge Durango, we're installing our Accele Electronics 4-Sensor Vehicle Back Up Sensor System, part number for this is BU500. As I back up to the bike, once the sensor has recognized that the bike is there, it will start beeping at me and telling me how many feet I am away from it. 4.5ft, 4ft, 3.5ft, 3ft. starts beeping faster. We're at 2 and 1/2ft, 2ft, 1 and 1/2ft, it's got a constant sound because it doesn't want you to back up any further. This has a nice feature, we've got four sensors, it's got four lines to tell you which sensor you're getting close to. We'll start on the far left, it shows our far left sensor. We'll show the next left, shows that sensor. more

Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera Installation - 2012 Ram 3500- Video
Today on our 2012 Ram 3500 we'll be taking a look at and installing the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera with Hitch Aligner System, part number HM50002. Now with our monitor in place it's time to test out the functions and see the modes. We'll go ahead and turn our key on to the auxiliary position and without it being on so that way we're ensuring we're not gonna roll anywhere, we're gonna make sure that we have the emergency brake set and put it into reverse. You can see the screen comes on. Now right now it's in your normal backup or everyday mode. We'll simply press the mode button here on the side and turn it to hitch line on and kind of lift up. It will go to the hitch mode, you can see how as you back up it's gonna go from green to yellow to red when you're right over the top of the ball. more

Right out of the box, we're going to have our LCD display screen that will project the image coming from our camera. This is the license plate camera mount. It has both our camera and backup sensors. Today on our 2005 Kia Spectra, we're going to review and install the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera, part number HM50002. As you can see, we get closer to an object, our backup indicator will let us know how close we're getting. Here's what our Hopkins Backup Camera System will look like once installed. Starting here at our rear bracket, you'll notice that the sensors, one on each side, are adjustable. We can extend them further out by pointing them up or make them closer for less distance to indicate when we're getting close to an object. We're going to go ahead and put them about halfway to start. more

Now here's what our Hopkins back-up camera display looks like once it's installed. Now as we back up to our trailer with the hitch alignment system on, it will not only give us a visual look but also an audible alert. We also have the option of going through two different choices of the hitch alignment system, both giving audible alerts as we get closer to our trailer or object. There's a cable that gets ran from here up along the frame and up into the cab of the truck. Hopkins Rear View Camera Installation - 2011 Ford F-150- Video
Today on our 2011 Ford F-150 we'll be installing the Hopkins Rear View Camera with Back Up Sensors, with a 2-1/2" LCD Screen, part number HM60195VA. We'll go ahead and start by opening the driver's door and we'll need to remove the door seal as well as lift the carpet up a little bit. Before you begin you want to kind of take a look underneath your vehicle and see if you can find any sort of grommet or anything like that, that you might be able to push the wire up through when you get up close to the front part of the cab of the vehicle. As you can see here, here's the area that we're going to pull the wire through the floor pan. Before we pull the wire through, we're going to put a little electrical tape on the end of the wire to protect any of the fittings to keep from getting any dirt or other debris in it. Once we've done that we'll go ahead and fish it up from the underside of the vehicle, pulling it through enough that we can make our connection once we mount our LCD screen up on the dash area. Now we'll go ahead and go back underneath the vehicle and route our wires to the back, keeping in mind you want to keep away from any sharp edges, moving parts or areas that may become hot. While routing to the back of the vehicle we went ahead and used some zip ties to help secure it. Next we'll need to go ahead and move to the license plate area. First we'll need to remove the existing license plate. more

Hopkins Trailblazer Electronic Deer Alert Installation - 2010 Nissan Altima- Video
Today on this 2010 Nissan Ultima we're going to install part number HM27512VA. This is the Hopkins Trailblazer Electric Deer Alert. What this does, when it's activated, is sends out a sound alert that can work up to one thousand one hundred feet which will prevent possible damage to your vehicle from local wildlife. Unlike the wind activated whistles this electronic alert will work at any speed and resists clogging by dirt, debris, and grime from travel. Next, we'll start our install. There'll be three ways to go about this. It can be wired to the ignition, wired to the high beams, or wired to the switch that would be mounted underneath the dash. more

Hopkins Trailblazer Electronic Deer Alert Installation - 2005 GMC Sierra- Video
All right. Today on this 2005 GMC Sierra Crew Cab, we're going to install part number HM27512VA. This is a Hopkins Trailblazer Electronic Deer Alert. We can go ahead and try it out. First thing we're going to do is run our wires from our switch to the outside. This is turn to alert off and on, and what I'm going to do is take two ends or two wires, one's shorter than the other, I want to tape them together and then pull both wires through the firewall. We'll go ahead and run this through an existing grommet in the firewall. All right, we're going to use the small grommet right here. more

Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera Installation - 2006 Ford F-150- Video
Today on our 2006 Ford F-150, we'll be installing the Hopkins Smart Hitch Camera and Sensor System for hassle-free hook-ups, part number HM50002. As you will see here with the engine running, whenever you put the vehicle into reverse, the monitor automatically comes on. When you shift into neutral, or drive, or park, anything but reverse, the monitor automatically goes off. Now, you will see here, it's backing up to a trailer. The closer you get, the louder the beeps get, and it also goes from green into the red. Now to begin with, we've already removed the license plate from this particular vehicle. First, we're going to go ahead and install the camera and the backup sensors where the license plate will go. more
